Anyone know...Will we be letting 1610s exit the IW Community? Or is this strictly an onramp?

Don't know about letting them leave...but then why would they? I suppose lat transfer from the community is possible but I've never heard of anyone actually doing it.

Its been done. CAPT(sel) Jim Kim got picked up for FAO. I worked with him when he was the CCG5 CRC. I also know of at least one former SWO who converted to 1610 and the converted back. He had a hard time adjusting to our community and went back. I could comment further, but this is a public forum. :p

I've noticed this trend developing in the IW community. I know a couple officers considering the same move.

The thing to remember is that we have had plenty of 1610s being blocked from entry into the 1700 community. Not really sure what the magic potion is :) but from what I can tell, more 1610s than not get denied conversion.

I heard they were looking at expanding the year groups for IW. Anyone know if that's true?

I can freely share that we have expanded the year groups, but will refrain from sharing specifics (for obvious reasons) until after the board has met and the results are out. At that time, it is my intention to work with whomever represents the IW Community on the board to provide interested parties with as much visibility on the process as we can, while respecting the integrity of the board.
