I will put together a more complete summary in a couple of days, but leave you with this:

- 4 of 5 LDOs were selected
- Biggest challenge remains other communities letting their people go (there were more than 10 deserving candidates interested in coming our way)
- 2 1610s lat transfered out...one to Intel and one to FAO

Who signs off on them leaving their community?

Lat transfer package requires command endorsement. Release for consideration by another community requires Flag Deck approval.

This is where I am lost in the process - I fear with this board I won't get picked up because the 3100 community won't allow me to be released. There isn't clear guidance on who I need to appeal to besides the OCM to argue my case. Furthermore, it seems the numbers are decided upon before any applications are submitted and there's no flexibility in the manning; why should the year group ahead of me allow 4 to get out but have none apply but not allow flexibility for one from my year group (me) to apply?

They came out mid-July last year.

However, this year's board was delayed a couple weeks due to the flooding.

Upsetting, but community detailers do this all of the time for some strange reason

It happened to a SWO friend of mine when he tried to redesignate EDO. SWO detailer would not release him, so he dropped his letter, joined the Reserves and easily redesignated.

Yeah, a friend of mine redesignated in the reserves and there was no board. All he did was get a signed memo or something similar.
