The POL-MIL Masters Announcement Msg was released today: http://www.npc.navy.mil/bupers-npc/refe ... V15152.txt

This year (in particular) URGE you to think about putting in a package for two reasons:
(1) It will be "easier" to get selected. OPNAV's N1 Pilot Program will be selecting 30 URLs for civilian graduate education (viewtopic.php?f=30&t=1292&p=7875&hilit=POL+MIL#p7875) - these are 30 people you won't have to compete against (supposedly, more than 100 apply each year for the POL-MIL).
(2) If you are an IWO that gets selected, you will graduate in JUN 2017 and IDEALLY (if you'd want to and the detailer concurs) come directly to State Department to take over my billet (which is a JDAL cyber billet coded for the PMM AQD) after graduation. The billet I am in is State Departent's Military Cyber Liaison, where you'll coordinate with the interagency on cyber operations, conduct analysis on regional/functional cyber issues within the Bureau of Intelligence and Research (INR), and brief senior level policy-makers.

Some of you have seen this before, but if selected, the PMM program allows you to attend a civilian gradaute school (University of Washington, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, UVA, Princeton, Tufts, University of Chicago, UC San Diego) and earn a Masters Degree in Public Policy. You can also go to any other school that has a 1 year Policy-focused Master's program (Michigan, Georgetown, etc) - those listed in the msg are just the "approved" schools (you can petition for any school based on your academic desires).

Here are some helpful links if you are interested:

(2) What IW Officers can expect to learn in POL-MIL program: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=1237&p=7402&hilit=Pol+mil&sid=814824287411a9cc8ed36f33dcb38729#p7402

PM with any questions - others on the forum have gone through similar programs.
