IW vs IP Officer

IW vs IP Officer

Postby Messiah62 » Tue Dec 27, 2011 9:15 pm

I am currently working on my Naval Reserve officer package. I am trying to find information comparing the 2 career fields. IW sounds more like an intel officer than an IT officer. Is this correct? I am currently an E-4 in the Air Guard.

Thanks in advance.

We kind of bridge the gap between the two. It depends on what job you're doing. Some are more intel related than others while some are more IT based. IW is quite diverse perhaps more so than INTEL or IP.

The air force only has Communications Officers. They can serve in various different roles. Would an IP officer be similar to a Comm Officer?

Pros and Cons of each? I think I have a better chance at getting an IP officer position as they are less manned.
