Question about IA workforce

Question about IA workforce

Postby sts2_traku » Wed Oct 20, 2010 9:43 pm

As you can tell I'm currently a submariner. I am at the point for re-enlistment. I have heard rumors of an ITS rate being established, and wonder if anyone has heard anything about this? I am assuming it will technically be part of the IW community. So, would that rate qualify for the IDC qual?

Also, anyone familiar with SCORE re-enlistment? Because I am also considering switching to CTN. How does SCORE work? Would I still be eligible for an SRB? How is CTN life?

Right now I have a 2735 NEC, and working on 2780. Hopefully I'll be able to get into 2781 next year.

Thank you for your help!

What does ITS stand for and how do would it be different from IT?

I apologize. ITS is the proposed IT rate for submarines. As it stands right now IT duties on subs are considered collateral duties, but the Navy is starting to recognize that sub LANs need full time support.

Wouldn't it make more sense to just create an NEC within the IT rate instead of an entirely new rate?

The ITS rating will begin accepting conversions on 1 APR.
