i read the JOE, and sort of felt like it wasn't saying much beyond the 'future is cloudy'. It is probably worth reading in order to understand the perspective of Joint Forces Command. However, when I consider to the amount of effort that goes into production and release of these type of documents an...

i can speak of San Antonio a bit. I liked it because when I arrived, I was 1 of 3 Ensigns at the command. So, I was lucky enough to be able to deploy whenever I wanted (and sometimes when i didn't). I don 't about the rest of the commands, but it seemed like they all had many more Ensigns than did w...

the ability to take leave (whether permissive TAD/TDY or earned) is also always subject to requirements and available personnel. Although it is certainly nice to have the opportunity to request it, it doesn't always mean it is going to happen. Based on the requirements I have experienced and the ava...

I'm pretty happy with it considering I missed the birth of my youngest child (and all the drama that followed) while on a subsurface deployment. This specific policy isn't yet perfect or equitable, but it is a dramatic step forward which was impossible to consider just a few years ago.

yeah - there's a video of it on youtube when the two guys are approached by a guy with a cell phone camera. breitbart has the follow on video of the police approaching the two guys a little bit later. it was really pretty funny, actually. as for the voting, i really like voting in the military. all ...

I did a GTMO IA, and I think it all depends on the individual. If they worked in a PAO type role, they probably did indeed suffer dramatically far away from where they needed to be. If you are an IWO who wants to do something topical in terms of IW, the opportunity is there. If you don't push to do ...

i know a few folks who have been frustrated by the detailnig process recently. I have to say, though, that for me the detailing process has been pretty good. i have been pretty persistent, but have always managed to get the information i needed. i have no complaints about the current situation, alth...

yeah - ft bragg; and i thought i was getting away from Army bases when I did my interservice transfer in 2004. still, i much prefer "visiting" an Army base for a few months (or weeks) as opposed to PCSing there. thanks for posting the link to the message articulating the benefits of GSA/IAMM tours. ...
