My personal feelling sort of coincides with the feeling conveyed by BTS. I think a warfare devide does nothing except perhaps provide some sort of psychological reassurance for validity. Also agree the "restricted line" concept is outmoded. I don't, however, think it will change. Seems we don't have...

So - if i read between the lines - I conclude that I should never have anything to do with NIOCs in Colorado if I want to maintain my applicability. Sure seems like narrow thinking here... Space is vital to many ongoing missions, but maybe if we divested ourselves of SIGINT we wouldn't need anything...

Restricted Line Warfare (Community)?

At the behest of the IWOCM: "Yes, I did intentionally make a distinction between URL and warfare communities...might make an interesting thread in and of itself?!?!" So, I think the obligatory question is- what is the difference between a warfare community and a URL community? URL seems to be the ad...

The musings in the previous post by vhscott are probably the highest quality post I have seen on this board. While somewhat stream of consciousness, the analysis is pointed and seems to highlight the very issues I have felt with the community but have been unable to articulate. While we view SIGINT ...

seems like a lot of effort for something so frivolous. i always thought wearing a badge on a chain around my neck was sufficient to identify me as one who works at an NSA site. but... ...i guess we don't have anything more important so why not?!

1) Interesting to see Frank (along with Dodd) still maintaining any sort of legitimacy considering the central role played in the forming of the conitions leading to the mortgage "crisis". Sort of funny how this country hangs on to hubris (and continues to promote it). 2) A little over 60 percent of...

concur totally with Mr. Saturn. I ran a shop of 103 contract and military linguists in GTMO, and it was pretty interesting. None of the work was connected to traditional IW stuff. It ran the gamut from many different -INT disciplines to producing data for FOIA requests and legal matters. Had nothing...

How about the Regional Studies students at NPS developing a community LREC strategy? I digress...but welcome ideas on how we might enhance the linkage between NNWC and our NPS investment. Well... ...aye, aye. I'll get with Dave, we'll get on it. Working to finish thesis, which should allow for some...

I agree with marrying up theses with a community need. It makes a lot of sense to me and would really have saved me a lot of time. It took me a long time to decide on my thesis because I had to guess about what i felt was most important to the community regarding my course of study. I hope I have do...

In my new attempts to curtail the ridiculous lengths of my post, i did not give background on what i have observed. I reported to my first duty station very early in 2005. Every JO who reported after me did an IA - voluntarily or otherwise - except for 3. My command did not factor direct support or ...
