Re: Projected Promotion Zones

Zone message below. These are the largest CAPT (~24) and CDR zones(~44) for 1610/1810 I've ever seen, I think. From December 2016, the OCM: "we will see trends of increased OPP and lower FP compared to last year's plan as a result of combined OPA growth and an unexpected high loss rate in FY16 ...

Re: SWO-IWC age restrictions

Always best to "Contact the IWC Deputy Community Manager for further information at 901-874-3391 or DSN 882-3391." He will have the most recent and accurate information you seek, and/or be able to point you in the right direction. Just give them a ring.

Best of luck!

Re: USNA Cyber Center

I wouldn't dispute your perspective on how things should be; in fact, i agree. I'm even a proponent of a cyber service. However, the Navy doesn't perceive IO as written in joint doctrine and (sometimes) executed in other services. One could argue IO wasn't ever fully accepted in the Navy. Thus, our ...

Re: USNA Cyber Center

Vision would be to produce URL leaders capable of understanding cyber warfare (those things espoused by Sum1), but also capable of understanding where cyber warfare needs to exist within the Navy organizational and joint structure in order enjoy success. I personally believe this is the most visible...

Re: Command/Milestone Results

@ COMEVIL: not buying it, and i think we'll agree to disagree. As QIO is unknown to all but the detailer and the community leader, how does it matter to anyone else? there's a lot of business between Millington and the community leader - not all of it needs instruction. what does it matter if there ...

Re: Command/Milestone Results

don't think most people can. but, if it's workable into the larger life goals one has - why not? for most of us, it would be a tremendous and humbling honor, no matter how it were to come about.

Re: Command/Milestone Results

yep, it's silly. board screens officers for command, both those who will command and those who will be in the bank in case something falls through (encumbered, medical, buyer's remorse, unexpected family hardship, investigation, etc, etc). unless I'm missing something - and that's certainly possible...

Re: Command/Milestone Results

From the instruction: "Selections for O-5 and O-6 command may include QIO selectees. These officers will be assigned to a command when a primary selectee is unable to execute command assignment (encumbered), and the bank has been depleted. QIOs will only be informed of their status if called up...

Re: Command/Milestone Results

@COMEVIL:
sure would. they call it governance and there isn't any at the IWC level, either.
