Re: FY19 board Statistics (CAPT & CDR) - 1810

sum1: saw a friend describe CWA-66 mission as: 'to provide and deploy trained and ready cryptologic warfare officers and cryptologic technicians to support the collection and exploitation of targets in support of national signals intelligence priorities.' Because: "to create more CDR Command o...

Re: FY19 board Statistics (CAPT & CDR) - 1810

Why should Milestone's be arduous, outside the Community, Flag FITREP signed jobs? Why can't Community jobs leading 300+ personnel plus mission support be milestone's? If NIOCs aren't providing operational impact then why do they exist? Of course, NCDOC is the only Command within the Community that...

Re: FY19 board Statistics (CAPT & CDR) - 1810

Maybe I'm dated, but how many hands would you need to count up the milestone jobs at our "TYCOM"? Honestly, I don't think we should have any milestone billets (LCDR or CDR) at the TYCOM. They shouldn't be at FCC/C10F or a NIOC/NCDOC either. Milestones should be jobs outslde the community ...

Re: FY19 board Statistics (CAPT & CDR) - 1810

Are all milestones considered equal? I'd be curious to see what the success rate is for admin./stat. board screening for those that take sea/shore-based milestone. Believe shore milestones outnumber sea milestones 2-to-1; however, if the pro rata screen rate against those milestones is favored to s...

Re: FY19 board Statistics (CAPT & CDR) - 1810

There was also an attached note from CAPT Kramer discussing how worthless the stats are and how he doesn't feel any pressure or need to disseminate. His point (BLUF) was the stats reflect what the convening order said. Here's his full comment: Leaders, I’ve had quite a few officers asking me to pub...

Re: FY-19 NAVY ACTIVE-DUTY COMMANDER LINE SELECTIONS

You mean by calling a cyber job sitting in Fort Meade (or similar) "operational?" That's one of my favorite examples. I get we're trying to operationalize cyber, but the problem is most people who've specialized in cyber don't really understand traditional military operations to the exten...

Re: FY-19 NAVY ACTIVE-DUTY COMMANDER LINE SELECTIONS

indeed, lots of folks turn down jobs, lots of folks volunteer the 'don't pick me' when the MS options aren't lining up for what/where they want. as for a CO decision to cycle folks through for MS credit - well, that's kind of the problem. the numbers aren't supposed to add up. i wonder if that type...

Yes, actually. I suspect the number of milestone and IWC selects keeps going up because people keep turning down these jobs.
