Re: The Conversation

I'll take some of the blame. I've got some things that have taken higher priority over the last year or so. I've struggled with whether or not I should keep the site going since it has never had a whole lot of participants and it was a spin off of another site I'm no longer affiliated with in any wa...

Re: Brutally Honest Lessons Learned - "I got relieved"

Unsure how many of you lurk on Sailor Bob, but if you do, I would highly recommend going through the following post titled "I got relieved - AMA" You can find it here: http://www.sailorbob.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=4885 It is basically two SWO O-5 Commanding Officers who were reli...

Re: Moving/Storage for OCS/IWBC

They probably won't do anything with your stuff during OCS since there is no guarantee you or anyone else will make it through training. If you're currently enlisted that's another matter. I had to put my stuff in storage and then after OCS they did my packout and moved my stuff.

Re: Accessing Blackboard at Sea

I had a hard time accessing it from the CVN and LHD. I usually had to have my husband send me stuff and post the stuff I needed posting.

Re: JPME Phase 1

I did the web enabled USMC Command and Staff Course for JPME Phase I and I recommend it. I took the USMC version to learn something new vice taking the Navy course. The course work has paid off, I'm currently wrapping up 10 months of in-residence work here at the Air War College completing JPME Pha...

Thanks,

I would give the detailer a call.

Re: OPSEC Officer Billets

Does anyone have any recent experience with billets that are now outside the normal IW swim lanes with the shift away from the pillars of IO? I'm specifically talking about OPSEC-related billets. Short version of the story is I picked up an OPSEC billet as a regular IWO that normally is a LDO LT jo...

Re: NFO to IW

If you want to remain in the Navy a DOR isn't a good idea particularly now. With the Navy downsizing in many designators if you DOR you make it easy for them to send you home. Redesignation is a relatively easy process but is driven by quotas. Just because you want to want to leave a community doesn...
